Covering Old Large Brads(Buttons) Yo-Yos

Do you have a lot of them Old large Brads that don’t match the project you’re working on?
Well this month I thought I would show you how to cover old Brad, Buttons with Fabric
So you will need
Fabric
Pencil
Needle and Cotton
Some old Large brads
 



Step One
Trace a circle making sure that is bigger than the project you’re covering
For example My brads are ½ an inch So I used a one inch chipboard circle
Trace your circle onto the wrong side of you fabric the cut it out leaving a same boarder



Step Two
Take your needle and Cotton (using double thread) and sew, using a small back stitch and following the pencil line as a guide, sewing from beginning to end


Step Three

Now take you brad and place into the centre of you circle


Step Four
pull your stitching up till it is a tight as you can make it then take your needle and sew thru the stitching once more, pull the cotton a little and then seal of

and you’re done



you can also use this method to make Fabric Yo-Yos to embellish your layouts

Hmmmm.... hey Teina... I did it - the house is a mess, dinner had to be eaten on the floor, but I was inspired and had to complete my LO straight away.  (Thanks to Wilma for my pizza box which arrived yesterday which made this LO really easy to put together!!)

I'm not sure if what I did is ok - I took my yo-yo's one step further, and sewed over and around the outside, to make my yo-yo's look like flowers.  Anyway, I've sent it to the gallery so you can have a look at it..
