Who is ready for another installment of Renee's Reno's.  This month I have decorated some Kaisercraft Coasters.  However rather than using paper, I have used Tattered Angels Glimmermist, Glimmer Screens and stamps.

The first step is to sand all the edges of the Kaisercraft coasters and base. Paint the base using black paint. Paint one side of the coaster white.  You can also paint the reverse side of the coasters black if you wish, but I waited until the end to do this just in case I made a mistake and had to redo it on the other side.

Next place your Glimmer Screen on top of the coaster.

Hold the Glimmerscreen in place with tweezers and spray some Glimmermist over the coaster. I applied three coats of Glimmermist, giving it a quick dry with a heat gun between coats.

Next grab your stamp and ink it using Stazon Ink.  Stamp this into the desired position on your coaster. You will have to press fairly hard to get a good print. That is all there is to it. If you are happy with the way the front of your coaster is looking, carefully paint the edges and the back using black paint.  I wasn't happy with the way one of mine looked, so I simply did it again on the reverse side of the coaster and painted over the first attempt in black paint.

To finish off I added some hand drawn stitches around the side using a black gel pen, and some stickles to the top right corner.

When sealing this project donot use mod podge and a brush, it will smudge the surface (I learnt the hard way lol).  The best thing to do is to grab some spray sealer and give it a couple of light coats, waiting for it to dry in between each coat.  Remember light coats are better then heavy coats, because you don't want the image to bleed.

Finish off by tying a piece of ribbon around the bottom of each coasters and also around the base.  Add a small flower a bow to the base and you are all done.

I hope you like it.
